Life
Inspired by her passion for baking, Carla founded CarlasCakes at the young age of 20, an online bakery initially specializing in cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. Shortly after, she discovered her love for travel and adventure. Growing up in Ottawa, she had only experienced visits to her family in Argentina and Costa Rica, but her curiosity and wanderlust pushed her to explore the rest of the world. Setting herself an ambitious goal, at age twenty-three, Carla aimed to visit twenty-five countries before her twenty-fifth birthday.
For the next two years, Carla embarked on a globetrotting journey, immersing herself in diverse cultures and landscapes. Surpassing her initial goal, she successfully explored twenty-seven countries by the time she turned twenty-five. To mark this milestone, Carla embraced California's vibrant lifestyle for three months, tied the knot with her now-husband, and then embraced the social media and marketing opportunities awaiting her in Dubai, where she spent the next 3 remarkable years.
It was during her time in Dubai that Carla kick-started her social media career, captivating her followers with lifestyle photos and sharing invaluable tips. However, her adventures didn't end there. After returning to Ottawa, Carla noticed a gap in the market for freshly baked cookies.
Through her entrepreneurial spirit and realizing her true calling in creating delicious cookies, Carla rebranded CarlasCakes into Skuish Cookies. With relentless dedication, she quickly captured the market, becoming the go-to destination for premium cookies in her city. What started as a small team hand-rolling each cookie soon transformed into complete factory operation.
Today, Skuish Cookies proudly offers wholesale cookies to a wide range of establishments across Canada and the USA, including restaurants, coffee shops, franchises, grocery stores, hotels, catering services, and various other food service businesses. Carla's passion for baking and her commitment to delivering exceptional cookies have driven her business's success.
Carla's journey from a self-starting baker to an accomplished business owner and influencer showcases her determination, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit. Her diverse experiences and roles as an entrepreneur, influencer, social media expert, videographer, and professional content creator make her a relatable and inspiring figure in the online world.
