Abu Dhabi, My Second Home!

I have way too many amazing memories in Abu Dhabi. My husband and I are crazy. So let me give you a little bit of a (quick) back story. My husband got engaged, and 1 year later said, lets move to the United Arab Emirates. So we got married the next day, with just our close family around, and then 5 days after that, moved to the UAE! Thats it.

We had no job and no plan, just a goal!

We landed in Dubai, and stayed in a hotel for a week while we soaked up the sun, enjoyed this new adventure we were starting.. and looked for jobs!

I ended up getting a job opportunity in Abu Dhabi 1 week after moving to Dubai, so we ended up moving over there. For those of you who don't know, Abu Dhabi is 1 hour away from Dubai. Oh, and a little more geography, for those who also don't know this: United Arab Emirates is the country, Dubai is one of the Emirates, and Abu Dhabi is another Emirate (of 7).

So we ended up getting a hotel in Abu Dhabi and living at the Sheraton for 6 months while I worked at an advertising firm which was so fun and amazing! We couldn't rent an actual place though, because you have to have a residence Visa to do so, and for some reason my job wouldn't give me one lol.

So anyways, thats how we ended up in Abu Dhabi! We lived there for over two years, eventually got jobs that gave us the ability to rent an apartment, and lived life to the fullest! You can just image all the adventures we experienced together! Some fun, some stressful, but mostly all amazing!

Being newly Weds, and starting our life in such a daring way, was amazing! We took such a crazy chance and moved to a new country with only 6 days to get married, pack, and figure out our new life together! I love everything about that story... were just both so crazy and I love it. lol

Abu Dhabi and Dubai were amazing, and I have created so many memories that will last forever! It will always be home for me. I sometimes even feel more at home there, then I do in Canada. But thats a whole 'nother story!

Until next time...

Deserts of Dubai

I wanted to take a moment to walk down memory lane..

I have shared so many special moments with my husband while we lived in Dubai, and I was just going through some old photos from when we lived there and I couldn't believe not only how fast time flies by, but how lucky we are to have lived and experienced such a beautiful life.

Life will always be beautiful, but we just have to make sure to make it so! Its important to surround yourself with the people you love, and to always do what makes you happy! Don't live a life wishing you did more, or regretting not doing enough.

Everyones happiness is different. Mine might have been living life in Dubai, and is now about starting my very own little family together with my husband in Canada. Every moment in life is important and is special.

These photos of my husband and I in the deserts of Dubai had me thinking.. Dubai was amazing. Our life was amazing. But really what was the most amazing thing about it all, is that we have each other, and that we get to share this beautiful life together!

Happy Anniversary Baby!

Baby Questions! Will my life be the same like when I was in Dubai?

How gorgeous is Dubai guys?? I still cant believe I got to live there! Ok, so technically I didn't live in Dubai, I lived in Abu Dhabi.. but still, same thing! I was basically in Dubai every day anyways since it was only an hour drive away lol.

I am always taken aback when I look at these photos, and I am still not used to how beautiful the buildings and everything is in Dubai. Imagine, I lived there for 2 years and every day I would still say wow! Maybe thats just me, maybe some people can used to these kinds of things, but I was always so impressed!

I am in Canada now, pregnant with a little baby girl, and am starting a new chapter in my life! I cannot wait to have her be apart of this world of mine. I want to show her everything! I am already trying to plan all these trips we can take together, and trying to figure out the logistics of travelling with a baby. I am sure its hard, but nothing can stop me!

Ill admit though, that I am a bit scared because I do love to travel so much, and would love to take her around the world and show her everything, but what if I cant? What if it really is THAT hard like people say? I know I wont be able to travel as much as before, and travelling will be different. But will it completely stop? I hope not..

My friends and family all say life is the same with a baby, just more busy thats all. So fingers crossed, because I definitely want to take this little girl to Dubai! Theres so much to do there for kids and so many of my friends have kids there too so shell be able to have fun with all of them! I guess well just have to wait and see..

What do you guys think? Will it be hard to travel once I have a baby?

Dubai ATV Adventures

As you may or may not know, I lived in Dubai for just over 2 years. These were easily some of the best years of my life so far.

Every day was an adventure and I never could get used to the fact that I actually lived there. Every day I would wake up and just look out the window and say to myself "wow". It was almost like I was dreaming the whole time.

I don't know what it is about Dubai that I loved so much. Theres just something about it though, that will always hold a special place in my soul.

From the people, to the food, to the adventures, every day was a blast!

One of my favourite things to do in Dubai was to visit the desert. When we first moved to Dubai we did the typical Desert Tours that tourist do. But being that we lived there for so long, we couldn't keep living the tourist life, we had to live and truly experience the local life.

Some of our friends called us up one day and asked if we wanted to rent some ATV's and take them out in the desert. Of course we agreed, because I always love a good adventure, and so we packed our stuff, prepared some lunch and headed to the desert.

We all met up literally in the middle of no where.. I am still unsure as to how the GPS knew where to take us, but my husband was driving so I guess I will never know (lol).

Our friends brought some meat to bbq, and ordered some ATV's to be delivered in the middle of nowhere. It was one of the best times of my life. But then again, I guess I say that about everything... but it really was! My sister and best friend were in town too at the time visiting me from Canada so it was the perfect adventure for all of us to experience together.

After spending the day on the ATVs, getting sand in our hair, jumping off of dunes, crashing, and having fun, we set up the fire (the guys did) and BBQd the meat they brought once it got dark and the stars were out.

Theres no better feeling then being with the people you love, and experiencing a moment that you cannot get anywhere else.
